High Zero 2004

This photo is from the High Zero Festival of Improvised Music 2004, and it was perhaps my best musical experience ever.  Held yearly in Baltimore, Maryland, the High Zero invites thirteen improvising musicians from around the world and a number of Baltimore-based musicians to play with each other in unique and surprising combinations.  There is much method to the madness, so the performances (to a packed theater) usually come off very well. I had never played with nor met any of the musicians I performed with at High Zero.  There was never a dull moment.
